Understanding Energy

For thousands of years, cultures across multiple continents have studied and developed ideas of what the human energy anatomy looks like and how energy functions. Cultures such as Tibetan monks, Chinese Doctors, Native American Shamans, Hindus, Egyptians and Mystics have devoted lifetimes to the study of subtle energy. Subtle energy is not a supernatural concept. The sea of energy coursing into each of us and around each of us organizes matter into form. This sea of energy is called subtle energy. Subtle energy cannot be seen or felt by most people. However, people trained to detect subtle energy can sometimes see energy, sometimes feel it, sometimes smell it, or sometimes just sense it’s presence. This doesn’t happen randomly.

Humans have energy structures in and around the body that filter incoming energy and radiate outgoing energy in an organized manner. These structures are known as the aura, the chakras, and the meridians. The aura is a field of energy that surrounds the body and has seven distinct layers. The chakras are seven energy centers originating in the layers of the aura and permeate the physical body. The meridians are channels within the body that feed each cell with vital life-force. Subtle energy is in everything we do. Our heart rate can be measured by a device called the ECG which measures electromagnetic frequencies also known as subtle energy. Our thoughts and emotions have frequency and electromagnetic radiation that is measurable as well. These forms of subtle energy can be felt as vibration and flow. This is the mode that hands-on energy balancing techniques commonly use. As an Eden Energy Medicine Practitioner and Energy Therapist, this mode of interaction is dependent on direct contact with energy being felt with the hands and can then be influenced, directed, held, pulsed, or moved.
